Gregory Johnson creates modern sculptures that embody the dynamism of the twenty-first century. His subjects are typically arranged to challenge the center of a compositional frame while extending beyond the traditionally imposed boundaries of three-dimensional form. Through a reductive process Johnson takes recognizable subjects and simplifies them into geometric form, capturing the mood and feeling through shape and interaction. Some compositions embody the dynamism of the urban architectural environment or the growth of technology, while some remain more biomorphic and organic.
